Welcome to KES Prep Nursery
Our Nursery at KES Prep in Romsey, Hampshire welcomes children aged two to four into a nurturing environment designed for modern family life. With term-time and year-round places, wraparound care from 7.45am to 5.30pm, and up to 22 hours of funded childcare available each week, we provide flexibility for families alongside an exceptional early years experience.

Fees & Funding
Funding will be applied 11.30am to 4.30pm with a maximum of 5 hours per day.
Term Time places are eligible for up to 15 hours per week.
Year round places are eligible up to 22 hours per week. (This is the Government 30 hours entitlement stretched across 51 weeks a year)

Payments
Fees are calculated on a termly basis. For families attending year-round, the total can be spread across monthly instalments. All families are also able to use the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme. Further information can be found on the Government website here
Structure of the Day
Our core Nursery hours are 8:30am until 4.30pm.
Wrap Around Care Available Daily
Nursery Breakfast: 7.45am - 8.30am. £9.35 per day
Nursery High Tea: 4.30pm - 5.30pm. £12.35 per day
Staffing
Our Nursery is led by Manager Amey Richmond and Deputy Manager Emily Roberts, both Level 3 Forest School trained, and supported by a dedicated team of Early Years Practitioners. With enhanced staff-to-child ratios, we ensure every child receives attentive, individual care.
A day at KES Prep Nursery
Life at KES Prep Nursery in Romsey, Hampshire is joyful, active and full of discovery. Children might spend the morning baking and exploring early maths through measuring ingredients, sharing stories and songs, or expressing their creativity through painting, music and imaginative play. Physical confidence grows through yoga, PE and swimming during the summer months.
Here at our independent nursery in Romsey, our beautiful grounds are an extension of the classroom. In Little Meadow, children watch wildlife and grow vegetables, while Forest School sessions encourage den building, climbing and woodland exploration. Regular visits to our school farm – home to ponies, goats, ducks and chickens – help children develop empathy and curiosity about the natural world.
Transition into Reception
Because our Nursery sits within the school grounds, the transition into Reception feels natural and reassuring. Children regularly visit the classrooms, play with the spaces and become familiar with teachers, routines and the dining hall long before their first day.
Tiddlers Stay & Play
Designed for children aged 1 and above, Tiddlers offers a relaxed and engaging opportunity for little ones to play, explore and enjoy our nurturing Nursery environment. Whether you are a parent, grandparent or childminder, all are very welcome. Each session includes time for purposeful play, fun activities, a drink and a snack. Tiddlers ends with a Music session, delivered by one of our Specialist Subject Teachers.
You do not need to book in advance; you can simply come to our Early Years building and sign in when you arrive.
