School Trips

We know that children build on their learning outside of the classroom and school site so children are given the opportunity to learn about the world around them through a wide variety of excursions. Trips are linked to the curriculum and are a valuable part of embedding children’s learning. Not only do children enhance their subject knowledge on trips out of school, but they learn key life skills such as teamwork and independence.

Excursions begin in Nursery and as our children progress through the school we make the most of the museums, historical sites and places of interest within the local area and further afield. Trips include visits to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, the Tutankhamun Exhibition, Kew Gardens, The Science Museumand Butser Ancient Farm.

Residential trips begin in Year 4 and are an important part of children’s education and social development. Children are given the opportunity to experience outdoor pursuits, team building and develop their self-confidence during trips away from home. Highlights of the children’s time at KES Prep include the Year trip to Dorset, the Year 5 trip to the Isle of Wight and the trip to France in Year 6; as well as the Bi-Annual Ski trip for pupils in Year 4 to 6.

In addition to our programme of trips; throughout the year there are numerous visits to school from musicians, theatre groups, Roman Centurions, Medieval Knights and Vicious Vikings!
