Head of IT
Head of IT
Full-time 37 hours per week with some opportunities for hybrid working
Salary £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience + competitive benefits package
King Edward’s is one of Hampshire’s leading independent day schools with a mission to operate a forward-thinking, modern IT infrastructure to support over 1500 staff and pupils at our excellent School. The Head of IT will work with the Assistant Head (Digital Strategy) to define and deliver the IT strategy for King Edward VI Preparatory School and King Edward VI Senior School across our 3 sites. You will lead and develop a well-resourced IT Support team consisting of 2 Assistant Network Managers, 3 Technicians and an IT Administrator and Cloud Technician who provide IT support to our staff and pupils. This is a central role, vital to our school’s aims and the efficient running of the School’s IT systems.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled IT professional who is up to date with current and emerging trends and emerging best practices and has the ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of the business. You will have hands on technical experience and will lead and manage a team to ensure effective, efficient and professional service delivery. You will have a strong technical IT background with experience of managing an IT Helpdesk, server and network infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services and ideally supporting a 1:1 device programme. You will have experience of strategic planning and implementing IT projects on time and in budget. Experience of working in an educational establishment would be an advantage but is not essential.
The selected candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills who is capable of thinking strategically. You will be an effective leader who can lead from the front and contribute to the day-to-day support provided to staff and pupils.

Nursery opening hours 7.45am - 5.30pm including wrap around care (Core hours 8.30am – 4.30pm) for 51 weeks of the year.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated Nursery Practitioner to join our team during an exciting time of development at our beautiful rural nursery. We are an incredibly friendly and committed team, working in a unique setting with stunning outdoor space and brand new adjoining Early Years Forest school site – Little Meadow.
You will be joining at a really exciting time as we extended our provision to younger ages, welcoming 2-year-olds to the Nursery in September 2024. We aim to create a magical and nurturing environment, that’s full of fun and variety. From music and movement, yoga and sing and sign sessions with our performing arts specialist, sports and games with our PE teachers, and farm and forest school sessions with our dedicated and passionate outdoor learning team, the curriculum at King Edward VI Nursery presents something special for both our children and the nursery staff alike.

King Edward VI Preparatory School is a thriving and happy co-ed independent school for pupils from Nursery to Year 6, and is the feeder school to King Edward VI, Southampton.
