KES Prep Opens Its Doors to Showcase Inspirational Early Years Provision
KES Preparatory School will welcome prospective families on Friday 13 June, from 9:30am to 11:30am, for a special Early Years Open Morning. This event offers an exciting opportunity to experience first-hand the nurturing and enriching environment that sets KES Prep apart for children aged 2 to 5.
Visitors will have the chance to explore the school’s beautiful Nursery and Reception setting, including the orchard, outdoor learning classroom, and canopy area. The morning promises to be both informative and enjoyable, with a range of family-friendly activities including a petting farm, face painting, and arts and crafts.
The Open Morning comes at an exciting time for KES Prep, as the school expands its Nursery provision and undertakes a transformative redevelopment of its Reception classrooms and outdoor Playscape. New features will include natural play elements such as sandpits, a willow tunnel, and a mud kitchen — all designed to encourage imagination, creativity, and hands-on discovery.
During the event, parents will also have the opportunity to sample the nutritious meals prepared daily for pupils by the school’s on-site catering team, reflecting the school's commitment to high-quality care and wellbeing.
Headmistress at King Edward VI Preparatory School, Mys Smith, commented:
“We are proud to offer a truly inspiring start to a child’s educational journey. Our Early Years setting is carefully designed to promote confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning — all within a warm, supportive community.”
