Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Following this sad new, both Stroud and King Edward’s pupils attended a joint Special Commemorative Service at School to pay our respects and mourn the passing of a remarkable monarch.
Held by our School Chaplain Mr Robinson, our children and parents joined in this service both in person and remotely as we marked this significant moment in history.
Respectful silences were also held across both schools before sports matches and in assemblies, along with the chance to sign a book of condolences.
As with many people around the country and world, we mourn the passing of a monarch who has reigned for longer than any of the current staff or pupils at Stroud have been alive and we are grateful for this chance to pay our respects.
